Mr. Nevillie S. Vinoya

Delegate, Seminar on Updates on the New Capital Accord,

Asset Securitization and Operational Risk

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

October 14 – 18, 2002

Lily U. Ermino

“What you see is what you get” – that is Mr. Nevilie S. Vinoya, one of the most affable and enduring personalities in SED IV, at work. His 35 years solid stint with the Department was capped by his recent appointment as Manager II.

Nev to his friends, Mr. Vinoya reached his present position through determination, patience and hardwork.  His perseverance paid off when he was sent as the BSP’s delegate, together with two others from SED I and III, to the seminar entitled “Updates on the New Capital Accord, Asset Securitization and Operational Risk” held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 14 to 18, 2002.

The 5-day seminar further enriched Mr. Vinoya’s adept knowledge and proficiency in the solvency aspect of financial management. He gauged the experience as a confidence-builder and motivator to lure well-meaning personnel to improve their performance. He recommends that more conferences of similar nature be offered to expose BSP personnel to different environments in enhancing their respective expertise.

Being with the Department for a long time, Mr. Vinoya welcomes the presence of new members of the SED IV family, contending that it will add zest and youth to its dynamic environment. He advised the new entrants to “love their work” because it is their source of livelihood and here is where they will build their career.

Nev believes that the negative notion about SED IV personnel is a product of malicious rumors and unjust accusations. He, however, bats for full-blown investigation and freezing of personnel involved to ferret out the truth and absolve the innocent examiners.
