SED IV people excel in management course

Five Supervision and Examination Department IV personnel hurdled and finished on top of the Managerial Skills Enhancement Program I (MSEP-1) held last year.  They proved that the Year 2002 was a banner year for SED IV in terms of quality performance in five of the six offerings of the course; no nominee was sent for the last batch.  The topnotchers in order of their batch are BO III Elvira (Joy) Lorico, BO III Godofredo (Freddie) Pua, Mgr. II Virgilio (Ver) Sarmiento, BO III Celedina (Ding) Garbosa, and BO III Henry M. Sungsai.

MSEP-1 is offered by the BSP Institute in cooperation with De La Salle University, Professional Schools, Graduate School of Business. The course, consisting of 126 hours of six modules, has two objectives: first, to develop participants into well-rounded managers who are versed in the fundamentals of basic management skills and adept at effective communications, and can relate to people both in the organization and in the external environment; second, to provide participants with the concepts and tools to understand people’s behavior at work and in organizing/directing organizational development towards transformation into a learning organization.

The three-week intensive course requires the participants to submit certain group projects or pass an examination. It has six topics/modules: Self-Management and Personal Mastery, Dynamics of Communication, Dynamics of Management, Leadership and Motivation, Productivity and Quality Management, and Problem-Solving and Decision-Making. All modules have highly qualified professors from DLSU. The target participants for MSEP-1 are: Bank Officers III, Bank Officers II with supervisory position, and other officers who are being groomed for higher position who have not yet undertaken basic management and supervision seminars.
